Record the chain identification and joining link
Provide the chain size marking, specific chain model or construction requirement and required link count where known. Include the joining-link reference or type as its own item. Chain size alone does not define every chain type or its suitability.
- Photograph readable chain markings and the existing package label if available.
- If markings are missing, identify that gap and include available measurements with their source and units.
- State whether the connecting link must be included; do not assume a different link model is interchangeable.
Identify the front and rear sprockets separately
List the front tooth count and rear tooth count in separate fields, with the corresponding part references. Provide the motorcycle model and year, and explain whether the installed drive setup has changed. A requested gearing change should be described as a new requirement, not assumed to be a direct replacement.
Attach the mounting details to the correct sprocket
Show the front sprocket’s shaft or spline arrangement and retaining features. For the rear, show the centre opening and fixing holes. Include known mounting dimensions, thickness and offset on a labelled drawing or photograph. Similar tooth counts and outline shapes are insufficient to verify fitment.
Make the kit contents and quantities explicit
List the chain, front sprocket, rear sprocket and joining link with one required quantity for each. State separately whether any fasteners or other items are needed. Add the quantity of complete sets, destination and packaging needs. Keep unknown references visible in the request instead of substituting dimensions from another model.
This guide organizes buying information. It gives no installation or machining instructions. Compatibility, available supply and commercial terms need confirmation for the specific request.
Questions before you enquire
Is chain size enough to order a matched kit?
No. Chain model and length, joining link, both sprockets and their mounting details need to be checked together for the requirement.
Can I request chains or sprockets individually?
You can describe an individual-component enquiry. State the component and quantity clearly; this guide does not confirm stock or any order condition.
Reference basis
Part names and reference categories come from the ZCY product guide. The linked technical references support the questions to ask; they do not identify a ZCY supplier, stocked item or approved fitment.
