Identify the installed clutch version
Provide the motorcycle model and year, engine or clutch identification, and any existing part number. Photograph readable marks and both faces of the relevant plates. Mention previous assembly changes, so the request describes the clutch actually installed.
Keep friction plates and steel plates distinct
List the number of friction plates and separator steel plates separately. Include each known thickness and any documented total stack height. These describe the required set; they are not installation targets supplied by this guide.
- Attach the known inner and outer diameters to the relevant plate type.
- Show the tooth or tab profile clearly and include a drawing or dimensions when available.
- If the set contains different plate shapes or thicknesses, identify them individually instead of supplying one average measurement.
Define whether springs or other parts are required
State whether the enquiry covers friction plates only, friction and steel plates, or a package with separately listed springs or other components. Do not use “complete clutch” to describe a plate-only requirement. Ask for the offered counts and contents to be written out before comparing offers.
Separate documented requirements from used-part observations
Label measurements from a used plate as such and note known wear or damage. Include the source of any specified thickness or stack height. Add required set quantity, packaging and destination. Missing dimensions can stay marked as unknown while a part reference or drawing is checked.
This guide organizes buying information. It gives no installation or machining instructions. Compatibility, available supply and commercial terms need confirmation for the specific request.
Questions before you enquire
Does “clutch plate set” mean both friction and steel plates?
Not necessarily. List each plate type and its quantity, and say whether springs are required. The supplier response must confirm what is included.
Can a matching outer diameter confirm the set?
No. The clutch version, inner geometry, tooth or tab profile, plate counts and relevant thicknesses need to match the intended requirement.
