Record the motorcycle and current drive setup
Provide the motorcycle brand, model, year, engine code where available and destination market. State whether the drive setup is original or has been modified. Include existing part numbers and readable photographs of chain markings and both sprockets. If you are replacing a modified arrangement, describe the setup you want supplied rather than assuming a standard model listing will match it.
Identify the chain specification
Record the chain size code and required link count, using the vehicle or component specification where available. Include the intended connecting-link type and any requirement for a sealed or unsealed chain. The size code alone does not define every construction or performance characteristic.
If the code is unreadable, include clear photographs and available pitch, inner-width and roller-diameter measurements, showing how they were taken. Measurements from a worn chain require care and should be checked against the intended specification. List any clearance constraints relevant to the chain and connecting link.
- State the quantity of chains and whether connecting links are required.
- Identify any required standard, material specification or supporting test evidence.
- Keep required characteristics separate from details that are still unknown.
Specify both sprockets and their mounting dimensions
Give the front and rear tooth counts separately, together with the chain size they must match. For the front sprocket, include spline or shaft details, thickness, offset and the retaining arrangement where relevant. For the rear sprocket, show the centre opening, bolt-hole count, hole diameters, bolt-circle dimensions, thickness and offset. A dimensioned drawing or photographs with labelled measurements help communicate these details.
Do not treat a similar tooth count or external shape as proof of fitment. Changes to sprocket tooth counts can affect the overall drive arrangement; distinguish an exact replacement request from a proposed gearing change that requires further technical checking.
Define the package before comparing prices
State whether you need chains only, individual sprockets or a matched set. For a set, list every component and its quantity, including connecting links or mounting hardware if required. Explain the requested material, finish, markings and packaging rather than relying on an unspecified quality grade.
- Give the order quantity per specification, in pieces or sets.
- Include destination country and city and your preferred delivery timing.
- State any sample or dimensional-check requirement.
- Request the offered specifications, package contents and delivery terms in writing.
Send your chain and sprocket enquiry
Send ZCY the model and year, engine code if available, part references, photographs, chain size and link count, both tooth counts, mounting dimensions, quantities and destination. Reference images help identify the category; they do not define a stocked kit or its contents. Clear specifications allow the sourcing discussion to focus on the combination your purchase requires.
Describe the part
Use the identification checklists
These part-type references explain which markings, dimensions and kit contents to send. They do not establish compatibility with a model or engine family.
Before you enquire
Common buying questions
Does a matching chain size confirm the complete kit will fit?
No. Chain length, sprocket tooth counts, mounting geometry, offset and clearance also need checking against the intended application.
Can I request a different sprocket tooth count?
You can describe the desired change in your enquiry. It must be evaluated as a different configuration rather than assumed to be a direct replacement.
What if I only have a used sample?
Send photographs, markings and labelled measurements, together with the motorcycle details. Identify worn or damaged areas so their dimensions are not mistaken for the intended specification.
